Further Development on Linux.org.ph Pending New Host

Development on this website has been postponed pending movement to a new host, possibly within October or November 2010.The VPS which this server is hosted on is currently strained to its limits as it is sharing space with some very active websites. I am unable to activate several member sign ups because further activity may only strain server resources even more.At the moment, only the Member Profile feature is active. It has also been updated to include relevant fields to get to know members better. The Jobs Wanted and Org Profiles will have to wait.

This website's goal is to promote free and open source software implementation, study and development in the Philippines. It aims to be a repository of F/OSS related activities within the country.

It will do this by maintaining a:

  • Members directory.
  • A FOSS club, org or association directory.
  • A jobs wanted message board.
  • A Content Aggregator, collecting information about local FOSS development and usage from various blogs, websites, mailing lists, etc.

    • Why?

    Linux.org.ph's main goal is to publish Philippine - related F/OSS activity in the hope that this will foster its growth.
